democracy complicates

Democracy is a weird thing. So many times I've wondered: if I were given no options, and I was just handed an occupation in life, if I wouldn't be just as content working hard? Ultimately I'll still enjoy the small things in life, the blend of sea and sky, the smell of spring and the joys of friendship and family. Taking away that choice of occupation, it's a little bit like taking away ambition. I don't know how it would pan out really, but this is just a thought.
